I was one of those kids growing that was just itching to leave their small town. I wasn’t ready to leave for college, but I knew once I went I was never coming back. After college graduation, I felt like I would be a failure to go back to Beaufort. Why go away for school just to come back to what’s familiar?
It didn’t take too long for me up realize Beaufort is a beautiful city and has everything I want for my future. Don’t get me wrong, I love living in Greenville and I’m certainly not ready to leave this city any time soon, but the farm I grew up on is where I belong.
Spending this past weekend in Beaufort was just another reminder of a world I miss. It was a wonderful time spent with family, adventures, and inspiration. Carl and I explored downtown while my sister, Brother-in-law, and mom went on their own adventure. Meanwhile my dad and brother sat at home wondering what was taking us all so long. It was a beautiful day and Carl and I loved exploring where our wedding day happened so close to our one-year anniversary. We were even able to re-create some of the wedding photos in the same locations. That evening we had a family Lowcountry broil and concluded the event with a walk down to our pond for fishing and shooting.
Here are a couple pictures for our time in Beaufort.
