Ahh it’s February!  I don’t want to be one of those people who asks where the month went, but where did the month go??  January was an incredibly eventful month.  Some great things happened and some terrible things happened.  I feel as though I lived a whole year in just one month.

In January I made some huge goals and planned on achieving them all.  We lost someone very close to us.  My little puppy is now a not so little 1-year-old.  I planned to buy a business and backed out of it literally last minute.  I did a lot of wedding planning.  I tripled my blogging views and have successfully been growing my readership by 20% each month.  I made the jump into to sponsorships and it’s been successful so far!  (Use promo code february to get 50% off this month!)  I also participated in The Nectar Collective’s weekly wishes, which brings me to the business of this month’s goals.

February Wishes

JANUARY GOALS

  • Put $100 towards paying off my credit card and another $100 into savings.
  • Stop eating fast food and walk Gatsby at least 30 minutes a day.
  • Get the laundry done.
  • Clean out one space a week.
  • Keep posting four times a week.
  • Comment or tweet another blogger every day.
  • Do something nice for a stranger.

Technically I achieved most of those goals, but not in the way I intended.  Instead of cleaning out a space a week, I would just do a whole bunch of cleaning at a time.  To be fair, laundry is really a never-ending battle.  I think I missed posting four times a week one week, but overall I stayed consistent.  I didn’t comment or tweet a blogger every day.  I found it was easier to just take a block of time and visit and comment a bunch of blogs.  I found Twitter is much easier to do in bursts as well.

The fast food goal was pretty hard to achieve.  Carl gets off work at 7 a.m. so since he always passes Chik-fil-a on the way home and always end up waking me up, he typically brings home breakfast.  I’ve definitely improved in not buying it myself though.  I decided when I buy fast food I’ll also buy the person’s food behind me.  It was my kind act for a stranger this month.  As another kind act, when I made Gatsby’s birthday cake, I also made cupcakes for Carl’s grandmother’s puppies.  One is allergic to peanut butter so I made a special one for her.

FEBRUARY GOALS

  • Continue to put $100+ towards debt and savings.
  • No more fast food.  For real this time.
  • Suck it up and buy a gym membership.  I’m lying to myself when I say I’ll go to my apartment’s gym or workout at home.
  • Get the wedding invitations sent, rehearsal dinner booked, and groomsmen’s suits picked out.
  • Keep growing the blog and get a serious start on a new side project.

AND ONE LAST THING

Check back here tomorrow because I will have a HUGE announcement.  Two other bloggers and I have been working on something really fantastic all month and tomorrow we’ll finally be sharing it with everyone! I’m so excited I might explode!

What major things happened to you this past month?

Thanks! It’s definitely a good feeling when you buy the person’s food behind you. I know how wonderful is was when a person did that for me, so I feel great passing it on.

  • So I stumbled upon you partially from Weekly Wishes + partially because I took too long to post my helpful comment on the blog I thought would be before mine in the link up!

Anyways — I absolutely love that your pup’s name is Gatsby + I totally feel you on the having to have a gym membership to actually workout. I am so glad I ended up here! Good luck with the wedding plannnig!

I’m glad you stumbled here too! Hopefully this gym membership goes well, at least I’m not going to be stuck in a membership like I was last time. That was a horrible experience. I definitely need the good luck wishes with the wedding planning, thanks for stopping by!

  • It sounds like you’re doing overall really great with your goals! Good luck with all of your wedding details!
