Happy Birthday Something Winnderful! Technically my blogging birthday was the 14th, but I didn’t feel like putting together a whole birthday post at the time. I took the weekend to walk down memory lane and figured I owed it to dear two old Something Winnderful to share a Happy Birthday post. Keep reading for some highlights of the past two years.

The many looks of something winnderful
I can’t for the life of me find my first cover photo from my original WordPress.com site, so unfortunately all the headers here are just the ones I had prior to going self hosted. I started my blog on January 14th, 2013 and took a blogging break that May to move. When I returned to blogging in June, I started as a self hosted site thanks to a free class Blogelina was hosting at the time. I figured if self hosting was going to be free, might as well give it a shot.

Series on Something Winnderful:
How life has changed since my first blog post
SO many things have changed since I started blogging. In the beginning of 2013 Carl and I had only been dating a few months and we both still lived in Columbia. We didn’t know where in the world we were going to end up and neither of us had a steady job. He was still trying to get back into school and I was applying for every job ever (with very little luck).
Now at the start of 2015, we’re happily married and we’re both working at jobs we love (and pay our bills). We’re finally living somewhere we absolutely love. We have the bestest dog ever, though not without a rough start. We’ve put on some happy married couple weight, but we’re starting to work that off. We have goals that we know we can reach and a peace with where we are now that truly lets us enjoy every moment together. We spent a lot of our relationship telling each other everything would be ok, “if we can just make it to ______.” It’s so wonderful to have made it through all our struggles together and know that we can make it through anything.
Blogging has changed my life in ways I never thought it would. I never imagined I would make so many friends through blogging, and I never thought people would actually care about what I have to say. I’m so happy that I started Something Winnderful and I look forward to where this little space will take me.
