We made it to Friday! My Friday is kicking off with an oil change followed by a 4 hour drive home for a weeklong visit with the family!  That is, if we ever make it out of bed… Carl and Gatsby are currently still passed out. Hopefully the smell of breakfast cooking will wake them up.

Today I wanted to participate in Chasing Happy’s Friday linkup, Pieces of Happy.  I’ve been reading her blog for quite a bit and think she is just so adorable and happy.  I don’t think it’s possible to read her blog and not feel at least a little bit happier.  Every Friday she’s been doing a linkup she calls Pieces of Happy.  It is where she posts about something or a list of things she is thankful for or just made her week better in some way.

Honestly, I don’t know why I haven’t participated yet because I think it’s a great idea.  Especially being a healthy lifestyle blog, taking the time to be thankful and celebrate little victories each week is a great way to stay motivated and encouraged.

So today I want to share with you my pieces of happy.

1)  I managed to make up a recipe that was not only healthy, but tasted fantastic.  I made shrimp tacos and used a mango salsa and a tequila lime salsa we got from Carl’s grandmother.  They both tasted fantastic but I definitely loved the mango salsa more.  I’ll be sharing the recipe with you all soon!  (Using pictures not taken off my phone).

2)  Our tickets to fly to Wisconsin next weekend have been purchased!  We are flying up for the weekend because Carl’s dad is getting married.  I’m so excited for the wedding and to revisit a restaurant we went to last time we were here.  When we visited last it was for Christmas and they had just been through a crazy snowstorm.  It was so cold!  Actually seeing snow was definitely fun though.

3)  Elsi and her wonderful family from Sweden cooked the greatest meal I’ve ever had in my life.  Carl’s cousin (who is our age) is visiting from Sweden with his girlfriend and her family.  For their final night here they decided to cook us one of their traditional meals.  There are no words to express just how good the food tasted.  I was a little worried when I saw whole fish being cooked, head and all, but everything was so fresh and delicious.  I wish I could eat their cooking every day.

4)  I am ridiculously sore from teaching yesterday.  And it feels great.  Yesterday I taught a stretch and strength training class followed by a contemporary dance class at the studio where I work.  Sweat was literally dripping off of me.  It was fantastic.  I’m not sure if there is a muscle on me that isn’t sore.  It’s great to feel like I’m finally getting back into shape!

There you have it!  Those are my pieces of happy!  It’s definitely great to take the time and think positively about your week.  I’m glad to be joining in on such a great link up!  Be sure to check out Chasing Happy!

What are you grateful for this week?  What little thing was able to bring you so much joy?

Stopping by from Pieces of Happy! It was my first time to link up, too…even though I’ve been wanting to for a while! Ok, I’m sure the fish was delish, but by the look of those pics of the fish heads, I would have been hesitant, too! I really wish there was a contemporary dance class I could take around here!!

Shrimp tacos?! Those sound fabulous! I have to admit, they look a bit more appetizing than the fish… 😉

Thanks for linking up this week!

I’ve never been able to get behind the idea of seafood tacos, but shrimp and mango salsa is a tough combination to beat! I think I need to go out on a limb and try them sometime. 🙂

Also, the Pieces of Happy link party is such a fun idea; I can’t wait to join up this week!
