Carl and I might have failed at the Whole 30, but we learned a lot in our 8 days of what I thought was hell. Returning to fast food while we endured our ER visits taught us we really do feel better when we eat healthy¬†foods. After looking through our budget for the past month, it also taught me it’s significantly cheaper to eat healthy (but that’s a post for another day).

We aren’t back on the Whole 30, but we are sticking to a paleo diet. To not feel deprived, we have a grocery budget an eating out budget. Our grocery budget covers most of our meals (which will be paleo) and our eating out budget leaves room for about one to two non-paleo treats a week.

One of my favorite discoveries from our diet change is creating homemade spices blends. I had a set of spices, but I never quite knew how to use them. Turns out when you don’t use processed foods, spices give your food amazing flavor when you mix them together. Today I wanted to share with you my favorites. Bonus, they’re in cute tiny mason jars.
