I know we are well into June, but in my defense I did start this post at the beginning of the month. My computer pretty much crushes my soul at this point. Here’s a bit of a run through of our life this past monthish.
We celebrated one year
Carl and I survived a whole year of marriage! Looking back I realize now that I had no concept of the challenges of marriage, I only knew I was ready to face them head on with Carl. So far I’ve learned it’s not so much what the challenges are but how you handle them. I’ve also learned that as long as you face the challenges together and always think of the other person, you’re gonna make it through them just fine.
We’re done house hunting because we found a house! It happened way quicker than expected, but I can’t complain. We met with our broker at the end of May and by the following weekend we were looking at houses. We made an offer on the third house we saw and lost it. We were pretty devastated because we were sure it was “the one.” A few days later we looked at a fourth house and loved it, but were a bit hesitant because of the sting of the first loss. We decided to make and offer and got it! I’m so excited to finally have a yard! I’ll be sharing more about the house soon, it’s just so wonderful!
My computer and Sprout + Co.
My trusty laptop is not trusty anymore. It’s pretty much bit the dust. It takes about ten times as long to do a simple task such as load the internet. It’s been the main reason I haven’t been blogging as much and 100% the reason Sprout + Co. hasn’t been able to launch yet. I have amazing bloggers writing amazing content and it takes nearly thirty minutes just to open their article in the Word document. That’s not even taking into account how long it takes to actually format the article in the magazine. The last time I worked on it, it took an hour to format a paragraph. AN HOUR TO FORMAT A PARAGRAPH. All I was trying to do was to change the font and move the paragraph box to the bottom of the page. We are planning to buy a new computer soon, but buying a house has delayed it. I’m hoping to have a new computer by the end of July. Fingers crossed.
