Forgive me for forcing my latest hobby down your throat, but I swear it’s worth it. It took me some time to give sewing a try. I was at my job for nearly a year, surrounded by sewing projects, blogs and pretty fabrics all day before buying a machine. I’m sure your reasons for not giving sewing a try are at least a little bit similar to mine. Today I wanted to share with you all the reasons I was wrong to wait to learn to sew and why you shouldn’t hold out as long as I did.
In my several days of less technology, I’ve embraced a new hobby I’ve been tempted to try for a long time. I’ve mentioned a few times that I do social media for a living. Basically, I do the social media and blogging for a fabric company that designs and produces fabric for large companies such as Hobby Lobby. I manage the social media for all the brands. It’s pretty fun. The office has a large room for sewing and there are quilts hanging everywhere.
It looks like the snow days are coming to an end here and Greenville and leaving us with nothing but super cold wind. I’m not thrilled. This is the time of year where I do nothing but go to work and sit inside until it’s warm again. Last February I occupied myself with wedding crafts, so far this year I’ve been taking care of Carl.
Hey there! How was your weekend? I gotta say, Carl and I are on a roll with great weekends. Unfortunately there’s still no luck with the kidney stone, but he’s hanging in there. We spent the weekend celebrating Valentine’s Day because he has to work Saturday and Sunday of Valentine’s weekend. Sad face. Fortunately, we aren’t too interested in the holiday so it isn’t a big deal.
Happy Friday everyone! We’re still suffering in kidney stone hell, so I have a guest post today from Allison. Get excited, it’s pretty crafty! Also, be sure to follow me on Twitter and Instagram to find out when our kidney stone adventure is over.
Hey, Something Winnderful readers! I’m Allison from Something Beautiful! One thing you should know about me before we begin is that I am not crafty in the least.
