It’s Monday! Are you dreading the week? Are you super duper pumped? Last week I started off setting myself up for a terrible week. Sometimes life throws difficult things your way and sometimes it’s you causing all the problems.  Don’t stand in your own way and instead help yourself have an awesome week.

How to have a bad week

Don’t do anything over the weekend.

I’m all for having a lazy weekend, but there is a very fine line between relaxing and doing nothing. Sleep in an extra hour, marathon a season (or two or three) on Netflix, but also catch up on those things you neglected during the week.  Catch up on laundry, clean out the drawer that has been annoying you for months or plan your meals for the week.  Doing something productive for even 30 minutes will make you feel accomplished and prepared for the days the come.

Don’t prepare for the next day the night before.

Last week I didn’t prepare for my first day of work. I didn’t know what I was going to wear, I didn’t know how long it would take me to get there with traffic, I had no idea what to eat for breakfast and Gatsby needed to have all sorts of medicine in the morning. Needless to say my morning was ridiculously stressful. I could have completely avoided all the stress by taking the time to figure out my morning the night before.  Even just knowing what you’re going to wear the next day makes mornings so much easier.

Don’t get enough sleep.

We all know how much is sucks to wake up in the morning feeling soooooo tired. The fact of the matter is, if you go to bed earlier, your morning will be easier.  Going to bed is hard, I understand, but sucking it up and getting to bed an hour earlier is always going to be worth it.

Don’t eat breakfast.

The first thing I want to do in the morning is eat, the last thing I want to do is put in any amount of effort to get food. I’m sure I’m not the only one with that struggle. I’m also sure I’m not the only one who knows what it feels like to skip breakfast and be DYING just an hour or two later. Figure out what you need to do to get breakfast and make it happen. Cooking in the mornings is not a skill I’ve mastered, so I found some breakfast sandwiches from SAM’s Club that take me less than a minute to have ready.

Do eat a lot of fast food.

It’s no secret fast food isn’t good for you so I’m not going to waste your time.  Taking a few minutes to prepare food for the next day or even make a meal plan will save you money and calories.

Do skip the gym.

Going to the gym takes effort, but 9 times out of 10 you’ll be glad you went. If you really want to skip the gym, at least take some time to go on a walk.  You probably wont have a bad week if you skip the gym, but going will push you to a better more healthy you.

Don’t take any time for yourself.

There’s only ever going to be one you on this earth, you have to take care of yourself. Take ten minutes to just be alone, give yourself a compliment or wear clothes that make you feel fabulous. Anything to give yourself a smile and feed your soul is worth the effort.

Have you ever set yourself up for a rough week?

  • Wow, I do all of these don’ts (except eat fast food). I think I should print these out and post it by my bed. Thanks for the tips.

Sadly I do a lot of these too haha. I’m most guilty of fast food, I’ve been doing a lot better with the list recently. Did you end up printing it out, if so did it help?
