I don’t think I’ve ever been so thrilled on a Monday.  Waking up in a new apartment with no crazy person below is just such a wonderful feeling.  I really wanted to share with ya’ll pictures of my apartment when I first moved in two months ago, but I never really got the place together.  The kitchen table was hardly ever cleared off and we only managed to hang one picture.

But guess what!

We’ve finally hung pictures! What what!

There’s still a good amount of stuff to put away, but I’m kinda taking my time with it.  When we first moved in I was anxious to get everything unpacked.  This time around I know what did and didn’t work in the old apartment so I’m taking this opportunity to really put everything away in the most organized manner possible. So far I’ve successfully done that with the living room, bedroom and bedroom closet.  The kitchen and dining room are still a work in progress.

I figured it’s only a matter of time before the bedroom gets messy, so I went ahead and snapped some pictures to share with you all.  Bare with me, I’m still working on the photography thing, so my pictures aren’t the best.

Alice in Wonderland Bedroom

Tah-dah!  This is what you see when you walk into my bedroom.  The door you see goes into the walk in closet, which is now super organized.  I’m considering posting about it, we’ll see if it stays organized enough to photograph.

Alice in Wonderland Bedroom

Here you can better see my nightstand and painting.  The cat bottles were wine that I bought from World Market, they sell them in different colors each year.  I don’t really like wine (long story), but I loved the bottles.  On the floor is Gatsby’s dog bed.  It’s actually bigger than that but I pushed it under the bed some because he likes to be able to lay part way off of it and it also keeps it from blocking the closet.  He likes to sleep right next to us at night and having it there keeps it hidden from sight.  The door you see takes you directly into the bathroom.

Patterned tray

This tray is probably one of the best dollars I ever spent.   I’m really bad about forgetting to take earrings  and bobby pins out.  I don’t even want to think about how many bobby pins I’ve lost over the years.  Having this little tray keeps everything together and not rolling off the nightstand.

Alice in Wonderland Bedroom

These are some Alice in Wonderland paintings I did a few years ago.  I got a book of original artwork and exerts from the story.  I painted in the artwork and tore them out along with a page of the text.  The exert I used is from Alice’s conversation with the Cheshire Cat.

Something Winnderful bedroom

This is what you see if you were to lay in my bed.  Not at all “pin worthy,” but an important part of my room.  The bookcase holds most of my art supplies and my printer.  The roses you see are the first bouquet of roses Carl got me and I’ve been meaning to do something nice with them.  The  stuffed giraffe was a gift from my mom when I got really sick in college for a month or two.

And there’s my bedroom!  Not much but I love it.  On Wednesday I will show you all the living room.  I love the living room because I was able to get all new furniture for it.  🙂

What’s your favorite part of your bedroom?

  • It looks great! I can’t believe what an amazing bed your dog has – it’s huge!

LOVE the Alice in Wonderland pictures and the cat bottles especially 🙂
