Here’s the thing.  I feel like with blogging it’s all about putting your best face forward.  You post the best pictures of yourself and share the awesome things you’ve done.  Nobody wants to hear about the bad stuff anyways, right? My thoughts are, I take some reeeeeeally ugly pictures a lot sometimes.  I also have a knack for making really crappy meals.  Is it weird that I kinda wanna throw my dirty laundry out there?

5 reasons you might not like me

1.  I’m messy.

Like, growing up there was no path from my door to my bed.  If you made it to my bed without breaking a leg, you would find half of my (twin sized) bed covered in books.  Being an adult has done wonders for my cleaning habits, and I LOVE an organized space, but doing the dishwasher is a struggle.  I also leave clothes everywhere.  Laundry does not get done nor does it get put away.

2.  I don’t like watching movies.

First let me say that I do enjoys movies.  There are just VERY few movies I will watch and completely focus on the entire time.  I need to multitask while watching a movie.  I feel like I’m wasting time by just sitting and staring at a screen for so long.  As you can imagine I rarely watch TV without doing anything else.

3.  I hate wine.

Is it sad I’m a little bit afraid to admit this?  I wish I could feel the way most women do about wine.  That picture everyone always posts with them relaxing with a glass of wine?  It’s never going to be posted by me.  I just can’t.  My first wine experience ended very poorly in college and if I didn’t fear my mother might see this I would tell you, but just know that wine and I will never be friends.

4.  My dog is my child and I will admit that to anyone anywhere with no shame.

Seriously.  Take a look at my Instagram if you don’t believe me.

5.  I can talk about Harry Potter for forever and I really will judge a person based on their feelings towards Harry Potter and Twilight.

I LOVE Harry Potter.  Almost as much as I love my dog and fiance.  If you aren’t a huge fan of HP, it’s ok, my fiance isn’t that into it either. It’s just so wonderful, I don’t know how you can’t be a fan.  The story is great, the characters are great, and there are so many female characters to look up to.  Perfection.

BONUS: There was a time in my life I thought the duck face was an appropriate (and sadly, attractive) face to make in pictures.

I shall allow the photo above as proof.

Did you read some of those things and think that we could never EVER get along?  I bet there were some things you read and actually related to.  As it turns out, what annoys that sh*t out of one person, doesn’t make a difference to another.  I think it’s one of the greatest things I’ve learned over the past few years. Your faults are not faults to everyone.

What faults of yours are favorites of others?

  • I really really love Harry Potter too! I love to sing really loud in the car, something I’ve learned people either love or hate

    • SomethingWinnderful

Yay for Harry Potter. When I meet non Harry Potter fans I just don’t know what to do…it’s just, how can you not like Harry Potter? My fiance loves to sing loud in the car…it’s hit and miss sometimes haha.

  • I agree with literally all of these, so it’s a good thing- that could actually make us friends since we have these all in common! 🙂 I despise wine and I absolutely love my dogs like kids. <3 Yay!

    • SomethingWinnderful

Yay we have things in common!! 🙂 Wine….just can’t do it.

  • Oh pish posh! None of those are reasons not to like you, just more reasons to like you even more!!

    • SomethingWinnderful

You’re too sweet! I’m glad you feel that way, you never know, some things are just deal breakers for people haha.

  • I don’t mind that you don’t like wine. More wine for me. 🙂 We have a friend that can only drink Moscato, so that’s all I’ve been drinking for months 🙂

Also, I’m the messiest person on earth. I could never be a lifestyle blog that’s all like….an expert on clean living spaces. Ha.

I love this post. I think you sound fabulous!

    • SomethingWinnderful

I tried for so long to convince myself I wasn’t messy…but sadly that’s not the case. I try, I really do, I just don’t have the time to maintain a super clean home. Maybe I’ll improve and things will change, but for now, my laundry is going to stay in piles on the floor.

  • My dog is my child too! I just can’t get over how cute he is so sometimes I take way too many pictures of him and post them on instagram. When I was single he also wore clothes. SCARY.

  • Seriously I love you!!! I’m not a big wine drinker either AND I don’t like movies. I’ll watch them or listen to them while I am doing other stuff but not my full attention. I think we might not be friends with a certain number on the list. I won’t tell you but I’m sure you can guess and judge me for it!!

    • SomethingWinnderful

You’re too nice! Wine man, just can’t do it. You like Twilight…..it’s hard, but I’ll try to not hold it against you 🙂 I just, I just don’t understand it. That Bella girl, she kills me.

  • I’m super messy and don’t like wine either. I love movies though, but I usually do something while I watch them. Unless it’s the first time I’ve watched it and I’m really excited about it. Also, Harry Potter is the best! I can’t stand it when people compare Harry Potter & Twilight, there is no comparison.

    • SomethingWinnderful

Thank you! Twilight…I can’t even. That Bella girl kills me. So glad you agree with me.

  • I TOTALLY judge people based on their opinions regarding Harry Potter. TOTALLY. In fact, the dude I’ve been seeing and I bonded over Harry Potter before we talked about anything else. I’m tellin’ ya, it says a lot about someone if they like it or not!

Also completely with you re: the dishwasher. I HATE THAT THING. If it weren’t terrible for the Earth and horribly lazy/wasteful, I’d use exclusively paper plates. It’s shameful.

    • SomethingWinnderful

Girl. SO GLAD you are right there with me. Carl isn’t near as obsessed with Harry Potter as I am. He definitely likes it and hates Twilight, but he can’t bring himself to be obsessed with it. The dishwasher. Ugh. It’s my dream to be able to afford someone to come clean my house and do the dishes for me. My best hope right now is to train my future kids to do it for me though haha.

  • I love this post. Buttttt . . . I had to go pour a glass of wine because I feel you may have offended the wine, just a bit.

I wish everyone would write posts like this. It’s the random information that’s meaningful sometimes.

    • SomethingWinnderful

I’m just saying, wine hurt me before I hurt it…so you can have all the wine.

I’m glad you liked the post, I’ve always been a fan of bloggers being really real and honest with their little quirks. It makes them so relatable. Thank you for the visit!

  • CJ

Ha! Great post! This was hilarious, I tell you. And thank you for showing your human side. We lose track of that as bloggers so easily. I think you’re even cooler now that I know these things!

    • SomethingWinnderful

Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it 🙂

  • Girl, all this post did was make me want to be your best friend! haha. Lets hang out with our dogs and talk Harry Potter pronto! 🙂
