Hello everyone! I hope you all survived your 4th of July Vacation well! Mine was absolutely wonderful. I was able to spend a week in Beaufort visiting my parents and brother and then spend a weekend in Wisconsin for Carl’s dad’s wedding. It was super busy yet super relaxing. Not only did I have a fantastic time, I was able to take pictures. What what!
Enjoy. One of my nights visiting I cooked dinner for my parents. I made rosemary lemon chicken with parmesan crusted squash and zucchini and baked fruit. Click here to get the squash and zucchini recipe!
Every 4th of July we have a family picnic at the same spot in downtown Beaufort. This is where my father proposed to my mom and we’ve had a picnic there every year since. Now that we’re old we’ve moved from sitting on the ground to opening a fold out table. 🙂
Once we’ve finished our lunch we pack everything up and begin a walk through the downtown neighborhood. All the houses in downtown Beaufort are beautiful and historic. This year we drove through the neighborhood instead of walking since my mom has a broken foot. None of us mind since that meant air conditioning.
There’s part one of my fantastic 4th of July in Beaufort, SC! Come back tomorrow to see what Wisconsin was like!
Do you have any 4th of July traditions? Do you go to the same place every year?
